About the artist |
Savannah Switzer is an impressionist and abstract mixed media artist from Holly, Michigan. Her artistic process began as a freshman in college when exploring fields of studies for her degree. She took art classes such as oil painting and fell in love with the way that it can be displayed and has expressed her passion through bright colors and sharp, unblended strokes.
Most of her work involve no specific focus but often has had a theme of bright colors, big textures, and multiple medias. She tends not to limit her interests and pallets so to keep things interesting and make sure that her works don't always look like the same artist does them. Most pieces are worked and re-worked until she feels there is perfection in the piece. She doesn’t make art for anyone else.
Her past and current work exhibits a wide range varying from animals to simply color and shapes. In the past, she has been influenced by the sunset seen off the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi, brightly colored animals such as foxes and tropical birds, peculiar angles of viewing trees, and even the feeling of gusts of wind blowing through the leaves. She put no limitations on herself and her creativity and has and will paint anything she sees or feels in the moment.
Ms. Switzer has exhibited her artwork at The Principia College in the Marshall Brooks Library, Maybeck Art Gallery, and Voney Art Studio for students to view. Her other works are distributed among family members and friends to enjoy in private.
Her next art exhibit with be at Sokol Auditorium in Omaha, NE with RAW natural born artists.
